Another Week of Craziness!

Sooo...we had another week of being crazy busy! We started off last weekend with a wedding...Easton's first wedding at that! It was his Aunt Shelby's wedding and he was the MOST PRECIOUS boy there! I dressed him in a little tux to show off his enthusiam and he was perfect at the wedding! He watched the ceremony quietly and smiled for all his pictures. At the reception, he danced lots with me and his Grandpa Corey and also tried to catch the garder...he wasn't so lucky at that! Ha!! He was great though and Cody and I were so proud to be his parents!

This week wasn't as crazy but lil man did get to hang out with his mommny and daddy more! His Aunt Ashlee (our babysitter) decided last minute to go out of town to Destin, Florida with my parents, so Cody took off on Thursday and I took off on Friday to hang out with him!! Easton and Cody hung out all day washing cars and getting the oil changed...Easton sat in the chair next to Cody at the car place just playing with his toys and talking! (For those who don't know yet, Easton is sitting up by himself these days and actually not falling over anymore!!) Friday, Easton and I had a busy, busy day visiting lots of people! One place we visited was his new little girlfriend's house, Teague Christian. My friend Elizabeth had her second little girl so we went to her house to meet lil Teague. Wow...you do not know how big he is until you see him up to a 6 lb 14 oz baby!! Easton was soooo amazed at lil Teague. He sat there and just watched her and would look up at me every once in a while to see what I thought....it was sooo cute!! Friday night Cody and I finally had to break down and buy lil man a bigger car seat. You would think that a 6 month old should still be able to fit into his infant car seat, but apparently those seats only go up to 22 lbs...so lil man outgrew his :(

This weekend we had a LOT of fun!! Saturday morning started off with Easton's 6 month pictures! He smiled soo big and the photographer even snapped one of his two bottom teeth! I wish we could have gotten a picture of his other two teeth though (which happen to be the top two teeth beside his middle top teeth...he looks like a vampire which is hilarious when he smiles big!). We had another family portrait taken which was more fun to take now that he is a little older. We had one taken with Easton and I cracking up at eachother, and another one taken of Cody and Easton with Cody swinging Easton into the air...they turned out great!! I wish I could share, but I don't have soft copies of the pictures to download on here :( Saturday night we all went to a couples baby shower that was sports themed. Little man wore his Dallas Cowboys jersey that his Grandpa Corey gave him when he was born...he already looked like a little football player!! Today was interesting as we took our first shot of taking Easton to a restaurant and having him sit in a high chair. He actually did pretty well except for the fact that he wanted to eat right along with us. Thank goodness I had brought little snacks for him to chew on...he looked like a little boy in the high chair. Oh and Cody and I got a great laugh because as we were waiting on a table another couple came in with their little girl. The mom said to us, "Oh look they are the exact same age except he looks like he can already walk because he is so much bigger than her." My response..."Well I bet he is definitely not as old as her. How old is she?" She was 1 years old!! Of course the lady went on to say how big he was and how he must enjoy his food and blah, blah, blah....it does get old after a while hearing how big your child is!! It's okay though, his cuteness oversees his chubs!!

Oh yeah...Easton's new learning this week...he now realizes that his tongue is there. He sticks that thing out all the time now and then looks at you and cracks up. He is so observant these days and VERY curious and interested in everything you do!!

Anyways, we hope you all had a wonderful week and look forward to updating you next week!! It should be a fun one as Cody will take on his first spin class EVER (he was clueless those last an hour until I kindly told him!)!!! Also, please keep my 2 Grannys in your prayers this week...they both have surgery for different reasons on Wednesday. Please pray that they will be strong and recover quickly.

Our First Crazy, Busy Week

Welcome to our first blog!!! Easton's Godmother, Erin, tried this for her family and we thought it was such a wonderful way to keep our family and friends updated weekly, so we thought we would try it out also! Sooo...here goes nothing...

Our first week in the life of blogging with the Thornburgs

What a crazy, busy week to start our first blogging attempt. It was definitely a milestone week for Mr. Easton. Last Saturday he was able to play with his friend Cade (only 3 weeks younger, pictured above) at an exciting birthday party and on Sunday had the opportunity to spend the whole day with his wonderful Granmommy (for those who don't know who Granmommy is, she is Cody's mom who lives in Waxahachie which is about an hour away from us in McKinney). Easton LOVED his special time with his Granmommy, however that little boy knows exactly when the most inappropriate times are to nap (one of his favorite past times since birth!). On Tuesday, he had his 6 month check-up at the doctors. Now for those who love doctors appointments, we were actually a little scared going into this one because Easton is such a chunker these days that we were petrified Dr. Webb would say we feed him too much...well, we were right about the chunker part!! He weighed 21 lbs and 3 ozs, but was 28 and 3/4 inches long. So in medical terms was "perfectly proportionate" and in the 95% of both his height and weight (yes, we grow hockey players at our house!). Easton had 4 shots at his appointment and was so sad to watch...he snuggled up to Cody for the remainder of his appointment because he didn't feel too good :( Wednesday was a HUGE accomplishment day for Mr. Easton as he learned to sit up for long periods of time!! Cody and I had him on our bed sitting up for almost 10 minutes...I must brag, he is developing his motor skills quite well! Ha!! Thursday was exciting as Easton's Godfather Caden came over to play and visit and feed him...Easton enjoyed himself sooo much with his Godfather that he slept until 7:45 am Friday morning (which is unheard of for Mr. Easton these days!).

Today however, has been a difficult today for all of us, including little man. Cody and I were recommended by the doctor to see a cranial specialist for Easton's head (nothing medically is wrong, so no worries!!!). Easton just has a flat head in the back portion of his head and the left back side slightly indents in, which could potentially cause jaw problems in the future if we were not to correct the problem. The solution for lil man...to wear one of the cranial helmets anywhere from 6-10 weeks. Sooooo....after long discussions, Cody and I decided that this is the best option for our little guy since of course we want our child to be perfect! Stay tuned for updates and pictures of the little man's helmet....he will by far be the cutest thing ever in it. Cody already has the design picked out...A Dallas Stars helmet of course (who would have guessed that? haha!! Cody is a DIE-HARD hockey fan and also plays!). So Easton is very fortunate enough to have a crafty and talented Godmother who is going to decorate his helmet for him! Should be the cutest darn thing ever!

As for Cody and I, we had a busy, super-productive week!! I decided last weekend that I was going to start training for the White Rock Lake Half Marathon on December 13th, so my first week of training started...not too bad yet!! On Monday Cody and I had our new bedroom furniture delivered, including a new bed (which means no more sleeping on the mattress on the ground....long story!). Sooo we have been sleeping on little clouds of heaven this past week...amazing what a difference a great mattress will make! Cody's big update for the week....he worked his butt off!! Ha!!

Stay tuned for more as our weeks will be crazier with more stories!!
